Artist, Dawn Lee has been surrounded by art since childhood, as both her mother and father were visual artists. Creative processes were always an integrated part of life and maintaining the connection between experience and art is one of her primary concerns. Being an avid lover of the outdoors, nature is the inspiration for her paintings, prints, and drawings. Her work has been exhibited internationally, nationally, and throughout the New York area. Ms. Lee lives and works on Long Island. She is from Colorado where she received her BFA from Colorado State University in printmaking, and moved to Brooklyn, New York to study painting at Pratt Institute of Art. Later she completed her MFA in painting at Long Island University. Ms. Lee is Professor and Chair of the Art Department at St. Joseph's College in Patchogue/Brooklyn, NY, Artist-in-Residence Coordinator for Fire Island National Seashore, and an independent curator.
